It's Groundhog Day!

"Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today."

So I'm feeling a little like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day lately. Kinda like I've been here before, and I'm afraid it's just going to keep happening over and over and over ... ad infinitum.

I re-took the written test back in March, and passed again. Then I submitted my essays (again), and here I am waiting. Again. This process started in January. Of 2009. Not only does this process test the 13 dimensions, but REALLY tests patience.

If my evil plan works, I'll pass the essays, get another invite to the July OA, pass the OA with flying colors, proceed straight to the Register (again), but this time much higher due to my awesome OA score. Then an invite to the September or October A-100 will come by early August. Of course, State doesn't consult me on these plans, so what is there to do? Only more waiting. Ugh.

  1. So what is your status? I'm currently (way down) on the Register, and trying to get my score up by studying Arabic for a test.

  2. Sorry, I fell out of the habit of updating my blog lately, as there isn't much to tell.

My status is this, however: I passed the OA a second time in July, earning a 5.5 in PD again. Given the size of the registers, and the current budget situation in Congress, it doesn't appear I'll get an offer any time soon.

My plan is to complete the school year (I teach high school), unless an offer to A-100 comes around before that, and if not I'll have a go at a more intense program of Russian language training so I can take the phone test and get the boost needed for what would amount to just about an automatic offer.
